The Typhon AX12BT model features all the same DSP, amplifiers and drivers as the non-Bluetooth models. This makes the Typhon’s usability a little more versatile compared to the non-Bluetooth models. When adding Bluetooth to this range of speakers, Wharfedale Pro didn’t cut any corners, using aptX protocol which allows for the highest quality digital audio transmission, easing the mind during all scenarios. The 4 DSPs offered on the Typhon series are Flat, which is essentially “the truth”.  They also offer Monitor, which is for when you use the Typhon as a floor monitor, this rolls the low frequencies off and attenuates the high frequencies to reduce feedback. The other two DSPs are Bass and Punch. Bass is ideal for when you’re trying to achieve a more powerful sound, without having to turn the loudspeaker up. Punch gives you that tight, crisp sound that allows you to cut through when required.

For the Typhon range, Wharfedale Pro have cased them in a brand-new, polypropylene cabinet, with a full front steel grille. The design of the exterior allowed Wharfedale Pro to create a lightweight speaker. Designed with 2 carry handles on the top and 2 on the bottom, this makes transporting the speaker easy and comfortable. The Typhon AX12BT also comes with a monitor wedge, which allows the loudspeaker to be turned monitor without making alterations to the cabinet.

Exceptional Internals Built for Quality

Internally, no shortcuts have been taken by Wharfedale Pro. Like all Typhon models, the AX12BT comes with a custom-made 1.75″ HF compressions driver. Due to this driver, the Typhon delivers crystal clear high frequencies. The two amplifiers that power the speaker are that efficient, they use convection cooling. Removing the fans from the inside allows for less operating noise, less weight and more reliability.
